Adobe sans mm font3/2/2024 Nothing seems to work and I can not find this particular question asked and answered anywhere on the web. Unfortunately, the exact same font may go by several different names. For fonts to display as intended in a PDF file, the same font with the same name must be on both systems. I have logged in/out, I have tried > sudo fc-cache -fv. When PDF Document Font Names Don’t Match PC Font Names, Use Font Mapping. I have the following: /usr/share/ fonts/truetype/ msttcorefonts/. However, I prefer acroread for various other reasons. The PDFs in question, look fine from within Firefox or when I use Document Viewer. Not only is it a problem on the screen, but printing is almost as bad. These comments are identical for TimesNewRoman. Below the previous comment is this: Arial (Embedded), Type: TrueType (CID), Encoding: Identity-H. In acroread, if I select File -> Properties and then select the Fonts tab, I see comments like this: Arial, type: TrueType, Encoding: Ansi, Actual Font: Adobe Sans MM, Actual Font type: Type 1. I have many PDF documents that use TimesNewRoman and other fonts that acroread has trouble rendering. I have installed ttf-mscorefonts -installer.
